If I were

Lloyd Muhara

Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC), I would not be selective in the firing of public officers involved in partisan politics.

I would realise that it is unfair to act only on those that belong to the opposition when there are several members from the governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in the civil service.
If I were the Civil Servant No.1, surely I would apply the law without looking at political affiliation.
I would appreciate that the picture I am painting is that those in DPP are untouchable when the country belongs to all Malawians regardless of political ties.

If only I were the Chief Secretary in the OPC, I would realise that the move smacks of double standards and is not welcome in a democratic country, especially under a President who claims to be a champion of democracy.
That is if I were Lloyd Muhara, but I am not that gentleman. n
